Surprised Amongst the Waves

One hundred and twenty pairs of eyes,
But only two hearts where given.
At least it was clear to whom they serve
And the night caught joys soaked in smiles.

Yet around one long corner,
Behind the obvious cover of an act,
One could find them...

Embracing the tranquil darkness,
Listening to the cheers and voices
Of so many... so close.

Although too far away to bind in stares,
They were close enough to watch the waves
And all that stood there welcoming the shore.

Soon to become a hideout for the burners,
A forgetful darkness for the troubled,
And a confession space for the sinners...

The surprised corner of the dark waves
Saw more than one mind,
Saw more than just guests,
Saw the nature of truth unmasked...

Soft Warnings (A Note to Myself)

There are places where one must not linger
Despite alluring mysteries that call.
Thrills that should not be wanted
Easily slip through the troubled mind.

Beware of such places, my brothers,
As they know exactly how you wish it to be.
Because they spawn from your inner turmoil,
Or your leashed anger that wishes freedom.

Know your place, but most impotantly,
Know yourself.

And trust only that which you know is rightful.

Changing Times

Times for the changing shades
Bring bearings of new making hows.
The first walk made becomes
A way to use once.

These steps, these stones,
The trail I question...
Nothing seems to satisfy.
