White Collar Guard

I lie there somewhere along the way…
Beneath the white pale clouded sky.
If I truly was there… If I truly be there…
My shadow would not matter,
My presence would not falter.

Oh but you shall see.
I wait still.
Unmoved. Stoic.
The stains of time move down on me.
They do so through paper,
Through pen and ink not bought with gold.

Blood.
White.
Missing the crimson taint.
Flowing down as rain down drain.

It has been now accepted.
I shall remain here.
Keeping the watch I was destined to guard.

Up the Chain

I made it up to here,
The race has just begun.

Ahead darkness falls,
Ignorant of light behind.

Even the chain of fear
Comes slowly to remind,

That night covers motion,
While shadows chase my steps.

Adjacent ally, tell me,
What mortal foil are you if any?

Can you follow?
Can you heed my words?

I will strike deadly,
I will fear trembling,
I will rise vigilant...

Oh dark silhouette,
Show me fate...
Show me mercy...

Drops of the Night Sky

Tell me, did the thrill sweep you off your feet,
Was it all you wanted to find?

Did your disappointment gave it all away?
Left you bound and broken I'm afraid.

I'm just a boy in a story.
A tale that covers much ground but little glory.

Tell me, did the chain broke your horse's vest,
Was it tightly pressed against its chest?

Did you expect something other than your own?

Truth be told, there's no star shining in this night,
But trust you'll be kept locked away in the dark to fight.

Under another night sky,
Different and less likely the one you want.
