There and Back Again

The water runs fast.
The rivers reach the oceans.
The rain falls earthbound.

Towards the stars my wishes go past.
Far beyond sight.
Closely near oblivion.

Arise a new moon,
A new sight,
The beginning of my end.

The race is long,
And fear is the only enemy.
In the end, it's only a race against yourself.

New teachings, new wisdom.
The ocean tide follows the moon
Wherever it goes.

Bringing new thoughts from new places,
Carrying burdens unknown to all.
Knowing paths that few would choose as their own.

The traveler arrives to a home he barely recognizes after so long.
